LinkScan SiteMap Report

The LinkScan SiteMap Report displays the structure of the website.

Use this report to display the structure of a website and review the clarity of the Document Titles. The SiteMap may be displayed either in Directory Order (a simple sort of the URL's scanned) or in Link Order (based on the structure of the hyperlinks within the site).

Usage

This report displays the LinkScan SiteMap. Options are provided to control the depth of the SiteMap as well as various presentation formats. The SiteMap enables the user to produce a site map that includes every document on a website arranged in a hierarchical format that resembles a book's table of contents. SiteMap and TapMap include customization features so that users may more easily and quickly create publication quality roadmaps of their sites. A SiteMap assists navigation on large and/or complex websites. It is also an excellent tool for webmasters to review the overall site design and structure and often reveals inadequate or inaccurate page titles.

Presentational options include:

SiteMap Based on Directory Structure: The SiteMap structure is based upon a simple sort of the URL pathnames
SiteMap Based on Link Order: The SiteMap structure reflects the manner in which the documents are linked to each other
Hyperlink Titles: The SiteMap displays the document titles with hyperlinks
Hyperlink Pathnames: The SiteMap displays the document pathnames with hyperlinks
Dot-Decimal Notation: Display the SiteMap with dotted-decimal numbering (e.g. 1.1.2)
Highlight New Documents: Highlight new documents with a icon
Anchors: Include anchor links on the SiteMap
Document Size/Date/Time: Include the document size and date/time last modified (if available)
Levels: Only include this number of levels on the SiteMap
Relative Font Size: Select relative font size

Advanced

Max Line Length (Characters): Limit the maximum line length to the specified number of characters
Indentation (spaces): Indent each level of the SiteMap using the specified number of non-breaking spaces. The SiteMap is produced with <DL> tags by default
Define "New" in days: Define what constitutes a new document
