LinkScan 5.4 Windows GUI, Workstation, lower prices announced
San Jose, CA, June 15, 1999. Electronic Software Publishing Corporation (Elsop) introduces LinkScan version 5.4 for Unix, Windows 98 and Windows NT systems that includes a new low cost Workstation version, new agressive discount pricing and a graphical user interface (GUI) for Windows systems.LinkScan is the industrial strength link checking and website management tool for Unix, Windows 98 and Windows NT operating systems. It is the most accurate, fastest and most scalable product available and it is highly customizable. It also does HTML validation. LinkScan creates two types of publication quality SiteMaps and it is professionally supported. LinkScan requires web server software and Perl 5. Reports may be viewed using all industry standard browsers.
Elsop is pleased to introduce LinkScan Workstation, a single-user implementation designed for individual content developers in large enterprises, and for organizations having smaller websites with up to 300 documents. LinkScan Workstation enables smaller organizations and departments to take advantage of the proven LinkScan technology at the very affordable price of $300.
LinkScan Server is the complete multi-user, enterprise LinkScan implementation and it includes LinkScan/Dispatch. LinkScan Server is already widely used by organizations with large websites. The size of the website that may be analyzed is limited only by the capacity of your server and operating system. LinkScan is unique in its ability to handle extremely large websites comprising up to or more than 250,000 HTML documents and/or 100,000 external links. This highly scalable multi-user version costs only $750.
For the first time, organizations can use totally compatible solutions on their central web and intranet servers, and individual user/developer workstations on Unix and/or Windows systems. The combination of Server and Workstation editions, new aggressive volume discounts, and reduced training and maintenance adds up to improved management control and significant cost savings.
LinkScan checks websites through either the file system or the web server. Both processes are necessary. The file system process is ten times faster than the server process and it enables LinkScan to identify orphan files. Checking links through the web server enables LinkScan to check active elements such as CGI's, image maps, external links and Server Side Includes. Having both capabilities also enables the user to mirror their production server on either their workstation and/or a development server.
LinkScan is being used by such large and diverse organizations as Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, the United States Department of Defense, the Ford Motor Company, NASA, Ericsson, KPMG and the White House.
LinkScan operates on all Unix Servers (including AIX, BSDI, FreeBSD, Digital Unix, HP/UX, IRIX, Linux, and SunOS/Solaris flavors), Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 98 with web server software and Perl 5. Free fully functional evaluation copies of LinkScan 5.4 may be downloaded from the company's website at: http://www.elsop.com/
LinkScan Server Version 5.4 is a free upgrade to owners of versions 5.3, 5.2, 5.1, 5.0, 4.2, 4.1 and 4.0.
