Linkscan 8.0 - Major Enhancements and New Features Added
San Jose, CA, March 13, 2001. Electronic Software Publishing Corp. (Elsop) is pleased to announce the release of LinkScan 8.0.The LinkScan family of products deliver industrial-strength test automation and website management capabilities. In addition to extremely high accuracy, LinkScan offers exceptional performance and scalability for extremely large websites and Intranet applications. Advanced customization features allow webmasters and quality assurance engineers to create completely automated test suites.
LinkScan 8.0 incorporates a host of new features including:
- Very substantial internal changes to improve the performance,
scalability and reliability of LinkScan. These changes result in
significant storage savings with a typical fifty percent reduction
in database size.
- Enhancements to the Windows Graphical User Interface (GUI) that
make it easier to use.
- On Unix systems, LinkScan now has a direct interface to the
OpenSSL package for scanning sites that use the Secure Sockets
Layer (SSL) or https://... protocol. On MS Windows systems, LinkScan
includes native support for the Secure Sockets Layer.
- Substantially restructured and rewritten the LinkScan
documentation which makes them easier to use.
- All of the LinkScan reports have been enhanced with more
options, greater flexibility and improved ease of use. These include
more formats, sorts by document size, more cross-links between
reports and more consistency across reports. Sample reports may
be seen at: http://www.elsop.com/linkscan/reports.html
- Introduced LinkScan Excel. LinkScan is shipped with a Microsoft
Excel spreadsheet including some macros. This may be used to import
portions of the LinkScan database into Excel for further analysis,
graphs, charts, totals, averages and comparisons with previous data
sets. From Excel, data can be stored in an other database such
as SQL-Server.
- We have added several new options/commands that may be used to
optimize performance when scanning very large websites with more
than 100,000 documents.
- We have included a detailed audit trail of all cookie transactions processed during a scan. This allows organizations to monitor and demonstrate compliance with no cookie policies. Some federal agencies are increasingly making this a requirement.
The LinkScan family of products addresses the complete spectrum of needs at affordable prices ranging from $300 to $5,000. Cross-platform and cross-product compatibility provides seamless migration for rapidly growing organizations while protecting all existing investments. For larger companies in particular, this also means direct cost savings in deployment, user training and system administration.
LinkScan operates on all Unix Systems (including AIX, BSDI, FreeBSD, Digital Unix, HP/UX, IRIX, Linux, and SunOS/Solaris flavors), and Microsoft Windows (95/98/NT/2000) platforms.
