LinkScan 11.2 Has Powerful New Features
San Jose, CA, September 9, 2003. Electronic Software Publishing Corp. (Elsop) introduces LinkScan 11.2.
"The dynamic nature of websites means that links can become outdated rapidly as sites are updated. As many as 25 percent of hyperlinks can become outdated in just a few months. Even maintaining the integrity of the links within an intranet can be a problem, especially when more than one person is involved in maintaining the content.", said Ken Churilla, president of Electronic Software Publishing.
"Webmasters concerned with the quality of their site should revalidate all hyperlinks at least weekly and whenever changes are made to content. Testing of that intensity is essential to maintain quality, but manual testing is prohibitively time consuming and expensive. LinkScan solves this problem by completely automating the task," explained Malcolm Hoar, chief technology officer of the company.
LinkScan delivers powerful test automation and website management capabilities to content developers and corporate management. It is highly accurate and offers exceptional performance and scalability to huge enterprise facilities. LinkScan also does HTML validation, creates two types of site maps, and it is professionally supported. Advanced customization features permit webmasters and quality assurance engineers to create completely automated test suites.
Continuing to lead the technology, Elsop announced its latest release with new features and capabilities to made the process even faster and easier.
Numerous enhancements have been made to the low-level link checking methodologies. These include improved timeout-retry algorithms, together with the collection of additional status information concerning bad links with DNS lookup, timeout, connect and other networking errors.
Significant enhancements have been made to the LinkScan user interface on Windows systems, include the addition of many new features to the integrated LinkScan web browser.
Support for scripted form submissions has been broadened. This means clients can more easily develop and execute automated regression tests for websites with complex forms-based interfaces.
Many of the LinkScan Reports (including the SiteMap and TapMap) have been enhanced to include additional information, increased performance and provide for simpler customer-specific customizations.
LinkScan is being used by such large and diverse organizations as Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, The World Bank, Cisco Systems, Cambridge University, Wells Fargo, Computer Associates, Boeing, Ford, General Motors, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, HBO, United Technologies, Knight Ridder, CSC, KPMG, Verizon, Consumers Union, MIT, the White House, Yahoo!, and the U.S. National Security Agency.
